BMX is the native ERC20 token issued by BitMart Exchange with a total supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. Originally launched as BMC in December 2017, the token was rebranded to BMX in January 2018 after the project discovered that another cryptocurrency had already claimed the BMC ticker. You may still see BMC referenced in smart contracts and block explorers, but BMX is the actual symbol in use today. The token functions as part of the BitMart ecosystem, giving you exposure to the exchange's operations and mechanics. Keep in mind that blockchain records and explorers sometimes display outdated naming conventions due to the contract's original deployment, so verify token details directly on BitMart's official channels when trading.
